Move abroad coaching offers structured, non-therapeutic support to help you prepare emotionally, navigate transition, and feel more grounded and confident as you adjust to life in a new country.

This consultation is a brief planning and decision-making conversation designed to help you determine whether move abroad coaching is right for you.

During the consultation, we’ll explore where you are in your move abroad journey — whether you are preparing to relocate or adjusting after arrival — and identify the main challenges you’re facing. Together, we’ll clarify goals, discuss what kind of support may be helpful, and outline a personalized coaching roadmap, including suggested focus areas and number of sessions.

This consultation does not include coaching or therapy. It is an opportunity to ask questions, gain clarity, and decide how you’d like to move forward.

Individual Move Abroad Coaching (by recommendation)

Individual coaching packages are recommended after an initial consultation to ensure the best fit and level of support.

4-Session Individual Coaching Package

This package is ideal for individuals seeking focused support around a specific phase of their move — such as emotional preparation before relocating or early adjustment after arrival.

 

Sessions may focus on:

  • Preparing emotionally for an upcoming move

  • Managing stress, uncertainty, and overwhelm

  • Clarifying expectations and decision-making

  • Developing coping strategies and grounding routines

 

Investment: $400

6-Session Individual Coaching Package

This package offers deeper, more comprehensive support for individuals navigating the emotional and psychological complexities of moving abroad, from pre-move preparation through post-move adjustment.

 

Sessions may support you in:

  • Preparing emotionally before relocation

  • Processing the impact of leaving familiar systems and relationships

  • Adjusting to a new culture and daily life abroad

  • Navigating identity shifts, loneliness, or loss of support

  • Building resilience, routines, and a sense of stability

 

Investment: $600

 

Coaching packages are booked after an initial consultation to ensure alignment and appropriate support.

Group Move Abroad Coaching

Group coaching provides a supportive space to explore the emotional aspects of moving abroad alongside others navigating similar experiences.

 

Group offerings vary throughout the year and may focus on themes such as:

  • Emotional preparation for relocation

  • Adjustment and culture shock

  • Identity, belonging, and community-building abroad

 

Details and enrollment opportunities are shared when groups are open.

Move Abroad Journal Sprints

Journal Sprints are short, creative experiences designed to help you process the emotional side of moving abroad through reflection, writing, and art-based prompts.

These time-limited offerings are ideal if you want a lower-commitment way to explore your experience, reconnect with yourself, and make sense of transition through creativity.

About My Approach

I’m Rachel Mims, a licensed professional counselor, board certified art therapist, and move abroad coach. In addition to my professional background, I have personally moved abroad and understand firsthand the emotional complexities of leaving familiar systems, rebuilding community, and adapting to life in a new country.

My coaching approach is reflective, grounded, and psychologically informed, drawing on creative and insight-oriented tools to support clarity, resilience, and intentional decision-making. Coaching services are non-therapeutic and are not a substitute for mental health treatment.

My goal is to help you feel more prepared, supported, and self-aware as you navigate one of life’s biggest transitions -so you can move abroad with greater confidence and care for your emotional well-being along the way.
