Meet Rachel

Artist. Therapist. Creative Coach.  Fellow Human.

Hi, I'm Rachel.

I'm an artist, art therapist, coach, U.S. Army veteran, and an immigrant living in Spain.

My path has taken me through the military, mental health, art therapy, major life transitions, and eventually across an ocean to build a life in a new country.

I've never been particularly interested in doing things simply because they're “the way they're supposed to be done.”

Why I Created Wild Free Art

Over the years, I've noticed how much time we spend trying to figure out what we're supposed to do.

We're supposed to have our careers figured out. We're supposed to make practical choices. We're supposed to know what's next. We're supposed to be productive, successful, and have a five-year plan.

And somewhere along the way, it's easy to lose touch with a different question: What do I actually want?

Wild Free Art grew out of my belief that there is another way. A way that leaves room for curiosity, creativity, experimentation, change, and joy.

You don't have to follow someone else's blueprint for how to live your life. You can try things. Make something messy. Change your mind. Take the scenic route. Start over. Follow a new idea just because it makes you happy.

That's what Wild Free Art means to me.

Wild

Being willing to explore.

Following your curiosity. Trying something different. Taking a few risks. Giving yourself permission to wander away from the expected path and see what you find.

Being “wild” doesn't mean throwing everything out the window. It means allowing yourself to ask, “What if?”

Free

Letting go of the rules and expectations that tell you there is only one right way to live, create, work, or find happiness.

Free means giving yourself permission to change your mind, redefine success, and make choices based on what actually matters to you, not just what you're supposed to want.

Art

Art is what I make, but it's also so much more than that.

It's a way of exploring, expressing, reflecting, playing, and seeing things differently.

You don't have to be an artist to be creative. Creativity can show up in a sketchbook, a journal, a new idea, a career change, a move across the world, or simply in the way you choose to approach your everyday life.

Wild Free Art is about making space for all of it.

The curiosity.
The uncertainty.
The messy experiments.
The big dreams.
The unexpected detours.
The things that make you feel like you.

Because I don't think the goal is to create a perfect life. I think it's to create a life that feels like your own.

I've Been Starting Over, Too.

I've started over more than once. I left the military and had to figure out who I was outside of that identity. I built a career in mental health and art therapy. I've navigated loss and difficult seasons. And eventually, I packed up my life and moved to Spain.

Moving abroad has been one of the most exciting things I've ever done, and also one of the most disorienting.

It reminded me that even when you choose change, change can still be hard.

Through all of these transitions, creativity has been one of the things that keeps bringing me back to myself.

Sometimes that's through painting or sketching. Sometimes through journaling. Sometimes simply through noticing what's around me and asking, What do I want next?

What I Bring to the Work

A few different perspectives:

  • Therapist - years of experience helping people navigate change, uncertaintiy, and difficult seasons

  • Art Therapist & Artist - A belief that creativity can help us explore, exress, and see things differently

  • Creative Coach - A passion for helping people get unstuck and turn ideas into meaningful action

  • Immigrant - Lived experience of building a life somewhere new

  • Veteran - Experience with transition, adaptability, leadership, and creating a new identity after leaving the military

What I Believe:

  • Creativity isnt just for artists

  • Transitions deserve support

  • There is more than one right way to build a life

  • You can be practical and wildly imaginative

  • Starting over can be hard and exciting at the same time

  • Making art can help us see things differently

  • And sometimes the most important question isn't "what am I supposed to do?", it's "What do I actually want?"

Outside of Work

When I’m not working, you’ll find me journaling in cafes, taking walks with my dogs, exploring new places with a sketchbook in hand, or cooking something gluten-free and delicious. I’m a curious traveler, lifelong learner, and big believer in living with intention—even when it looks a little unconventional.

If you're ready to work together—or just want to learn more—I’d love to hear from you.
